Learning difficulties are a common thing in the world of education that happen to students in their academic fields. However, this should not be underestimated because the impact will hinder the student's learning activities, and it must be dealt with with special actions. It's a qualitative study using the ethnographic method that was conducted in May 2023. Data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that students have difficulty reading the beginning of words, reading phrases, and recognizing the meaning of words. In addition, the factor causing difficulties in starting reading at MI Ar Ridho Tarumajaya is the lack of awareness of parents role in guiding and supporting the student's learning process at home. The other factor is that the students do not follow the school level, so when they step into the first grade, they have not had enough preparation to learn to read. As for the solution that was made by the teacher as the guardian of the first class in MI, Ar Ridho Tarumajaya added the students' learning hours to train their ability to read so that the students who are not able to read could follow the lesson like his other friends
