A Study on The Implementation of Song Lyric in Teaching Vocabulary Mastery at Junior High School

The aims of this study are to describe on ho the used of song lyric in terms of result, obstacles, and types of song can improve students’ vocabulary mastery based on journal materials that found on the internet. This research is a type of library research where data collection is done through books, notes, or reports on the result of previous research. The study applied qualitative design that implemented Library Research Method. The data were collected from journal materials on the implementation of English songs in teaching vocabulary at junior high school. The journal materials were found from internet. The results of the data analyzed show that the implementation of song lyric can improve students’ vocabulary mastery. The researcher faced the obstacles during teaching vocabulary mastery using song, but the researcher can overcome it. The type of song that used in teaching vocabulary also considered in teaching vocabulary students. Based on the explanation above, the researcher concluded that the use of song lyric towards students’ vocabulary mastery had significant impact, such as students’ enthusiasm and activeness in learning, increasing students’ motivation and self-confidence.
