Development of Animation Videos to Improve Understanding of Tolerance and Attitude of Respect for Diversity

Abstract

The results of the analysis of teacher and student needs regarding the potential and problems in schools and the researcher's concerns regarding the difficulties of teachers in compiling and developing digital-based learning media. The type of research used is research and development. The development model adapts the Borg and Gall development model. The results of the study showed a significant increase in improving Attitudes of Respect for Diversity, this is evidenced by the following results: 1) The development of animation-based videos using Sparkol Videosribe can be said to be feasible in terms of validity, a percentage score of 92.86% of material experts was categorized as very feasible and 90.00% of media experts were categorized as "very feasible". 2) Practicality obtained the average percentage value for student responses of 72 people obtained a score of 100.00% which is categorized as "very practical", while large-scale student responses, and for teacher responses obtained an average percentage value of 100.00% which is categorized as "very practical". 3) The level of product effectiveness can be seen from the design plan using assessment or evaluation as a measuring tool. The attitude of respecting diversity shows a class average of 85.28.
