Abstract

Social arithmetic, which involves practical applications of mathematical concepts in everyday life, plays a crucial role in developing students' problem-solving skills. This study examines the relationship between students' study habits and their ability to solve mathematical problems in social arithmetic among seventh-grade students at Nidaa Al Haar Middle School, Bekasi, during the 2023-2024 academic year. A quantitative approach with correlational survey methods was used, involving a sample of 30 students selected through cluster random sampling. Data were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. The findings show a positive correlation between study habits and problem-solving abilities. This indicates that students with better study habits tend to perform better in mathematical problem-solving tasks, particularly in social arithmetic. The results highlight the importance of fostering effective study habits to improve students' mathematical skills.
