The Use of Dictogloss Technique to Develop Students Ability in Writing Skill

This study aims to determine the application of the dictogloss technique in improving students' descriptive text writing skills. This research is qualitative research that uses classroom action research methods. This research was conducted to develop students' ability in writing skills using the dictogloss technique. This researcher is an VIII grade student of SMP Budi Murni 2. This research was conducted by applying the Classroom Action Research rules and steps. Data collected in this study was analyzed using qualitative techniques. Qualitative data taken from observation sheets, interviews, and documentation. The results of this study found that there was an increase in students' writing skills using the Dictogloss technique. It is supported by increasing the average score in each meeting. The average post-test in the first cycle was 69.45. Average post-test in cycle two is 73.15. The average in the third cycle is 83. These data indicate that students' scores increase in each grade meeting. The percentage of students who passed in each meeting also increased. In post-test cycle I there were twelve students who passed (60%). In the second cycle posttest there were eighteen students who passed (80%). In the third cycle post test there were twenty students who passed (100%). According to the data collected in this study, it can be concluded that students are more involved, motivated and interested in writing skills using the dictogloss technique.Based on the data above, the results obtained increased by using the dictogloss technique in writing skills.
