Honing the Speaking Skill with Cake Application in Classroom Action Research

Abstract

The aim of the research is (1) to find out the students problems in speaking skill, (2) to improve the students’ speaking skill through Cake Application at the 8th grade students of SMP Islam Al- Wathoniyah Kab. Bekasi in the academic year of 2021/2022. The researcher applied the methodology of Classroom Action Research (CAR). There are three cycles that have to be accomplished by the researcher from Cycle I and II. The result of the research has shown up that Cake Application is able to improve students’ speaking skill. This can be shown that students in eighth grade of SMP Islam Al-Wathoniyah has the average score of 72 in Cycle I and in Cycle II is 82. Based on the fact above the researcher concluded that Cake Application is able to improve the students’ speaking skill at eighth grade of SMP Islam Al-Wathoniyah in the academic year of 2021/2022.
