Development Of Word Card Learning Media To Improve Reading Skills In Grade 1 Elementary School Students

Abstrak

The purpose of this study was to improve the reading ability of grade 1 students through research and development of word card learning media. The methodology used in this study is research and development (RnD) which was adopted from Sugiyono. The object is a grade 1 elementary school student located at SDN Grogol 1 Depok and SDN Rangapan Jaya Depok. This research lasted for 3 months, namely from March-June in the 2021-2022 academic year. The population used is all elementary school students in grade 1 in the municipality of Depok with a sample of 28 students from SDN Grogol 1 and 34 students from SDN Rangapan Jaya. Data collection techniques are interviews, observations, questionnaires, tests. The research instrument applied was a test and an observation sheet. Before analyzing the data, the research instrument was tested for normality, validity, reliability and homogeneity. The conclusion of this study is that the reading ability of 1st grade elementary school students increases with the implementation of the product developed in the form of Word Cards.
