Abstrak

This study investigates the use of role-playing methods to enhance the speaking skills of 5-6-year-old children at PAUD Tansera 07 in Tambora District, West Jakarta. Role play allows children to explore their world by imitating actions and characters around them, facilitating problem-solving through demonstrations and discussions. The research employs classroom action research (PTK) to improve learning through various activities, focusing on role play. Collaborative efforts between researchers and teachers in group B1 indicate that speaking skills can be significantly enhanced using this method. Results show an increase in children's speaking abilities: the average score rose from 46.14 in the pre-action phase (low criterion) to 58.57 in cycle 1 (sufficient criterion), and further to 80.64 in cycle 2 (good criterion). These findings suggest that role-playing effectively improves the speaking skills of children aged 5-6 years.
